Black History Month

Don't forget about black history. For the last day of black history month, I decided to take a photo of a coffee-table book that I got for my parents. It is a great way for people to relive and remember black history.

Sometimes when you stare up at a beautiful sky, it looks like heaven! Such a nice day and the clouds looked so mystical!

Cake anyone??

Would anyone like some cake? If you are looking for some really good cake or pies and want it to be the size of your head, you should head to the Marietta Diner! It is so good and the portion sizes are huge! Word of advise, be prepared to circle the parking lot a few times because it is always busy.

Getting Older!

Happy Birthday to me! I'm very glad that I've been able to make it this age and accomplished so much! So what is in store for the next year of my life? Does anyone else look forward to their birthday like I do? I just like it when people say Happy Birthday to me. It makes me feel liked/loved.

It is almost my birthday and my friend decided to give me an early birthday gift. It made me smile and I walked around with it all day. Thanks!

Man vs. Food

I love the show Man vs. Food!! I personally think the host should be dead by now but I really enjoy him visiting strange places so that I have some new places to check out when on vacation. Today I went to a hole in the wall hot dog restaurant in Raleigh, NC. It was a hole in the wall but it was so good!!!! Very cheap food but a recipe that worth more than the price! Too much??

Today I took a trip with my wife, mother and mother-in-law to get some haircare products. OMG!! So much stuff!! Have you ever seen a beauty store that the size of a Walmart?? Too many choices for women to have to go through. It was was like you dropped some kids off at Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Thank god after 3 hours they decided to buy something and I helped pick it out.

What's inside?

Do you ever wonder what is inside a woman's purse? Do you ever wonder if the purse is big enough to carry all that stuff they need? Trust me....I didn't open it. I know not to go inside.

Creamy....Dreamy....Filling

When I was a kid, I hated Twinkies!! If you are old enough to remember, they used to be filled with banana cream. I HATE BANANA!! I hate the taste and the smell. But now they are filled with vanilla cream. I haven't had a Twinkie in more than 15 or 20 years but today someone brought a box of them to work.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I love seeing the publicity ads for the new Star Wars 3D theatrical releases. I don't think that I will see them in 3D but it is nice to see everyone get excited about it again. My wife just recently watched Episodes 1-3 on Blu Ray. I'm trying to get her to finish the trilogy saga but it might take some time.

Dancing is a true workout!

Dancing can be so much fun but sometimes it is a serious workout! Tonight, my wife and I went out to Sam's Club to buy some stuff for the house. As soon as we walked in the door, we noticed a demo setup for an XBOX Kinect. Now, neither of us have ever used an XBOX Kinect but we have been interested in it because of the dancing games. We love to dance and it seemed like it would be fun. So why not try it in a public store and make a complete fool out of yourself!! OK! 10 mins and 2 songs later we were pretty much sold on buying an XBOX system and a Kinect. Well, we went to Best Buy to make an impulse purchase and my wife stumbles upon the same game but for a system that we already own. Perfect! As much as I love dancing, I love saving money even more!

Needless to say, we were up half the night dancing and sweating like pigs! Just Dance 3 is a great Wii game and a really good workout! Has anyone ever tried it? I highly recommend it!

Grit Check!

Every morning at work there is something that a friend and I do....Grit Check!! I love grits! I've grown up on them all my life and are pretty much my staple for breakfast foods! Are you a fan of grits? Do you like your grits lumpy and thick or thin and loose? I HATE LOOSE GRITS OR RUNNY GRITS!! Grits should stick to a fork and not move when held upside down! OK, maybe that is a bit exaggerating but still they need to be thick!

So every morning, my friend and I will go to the cafe' at work and check to see what the consistancy is of the grits. This is the south and this is what they should do (see the photo below)!! Tell me what you think! Do you like them thick or thin? Do you like them with butter, salt and pepper or just plain? Do you like them with cheese? Do you like them with cream and milk? Either way, GRITS are here to stay in my world.....just make them right! Don't forget the sausage or bacon!

My Mother-in-Law is a good Mother-in-Law!

Today is a very special day because it is the day my mother-in-law celebrates her birthday! I wish a very special birthday to my very nice, sweet, intelligent, caring, thoughtful, encouraging, care-giving Mother-in-Law! I wish all the best wishes for her on today.

What did she get for her birthday? A new car? Fancy clothes and jewelry? A beautiful bouquet of flowers? A big delicious cake? A party with a DJ? I'm not sure what she got for her birthday today (because we live so far apart) but she deserves a crown to go with her queen dress. I say all of this because after all the advice and help that she has given me over the years, the best thing that she has given me to this day.....is my wife!
