Won't You Be My Neighbor? Hello Neighbor.

Mr. Rogers Neighborhood has always had a huge impact on who I am as a person. Growing up I never really had any friends. I was a classic nerd who didn't like to play outside. All I wanted to do was watch television and play video games. Mr. Rogers Neighborhood was one of those television programs that I watched. He would always teach me how to be a polite and kind person to others. I always thought I was different and that's why I didn't have friends because I thought or acted a certain way. Mr. Rogers taught me that it's okay to be who are and he loves you no matter what. My parents raised me to be a good person and teach me right from wrong but there is no doubt in my mind that Mr. Rogers molded me into the positive, polite and kind person that I am today. I'm of true belief that what I saw in Mr. Rogers was true.

Last night I saw the latest documentary about Mr. Fred Rogers titled Won't You Be My Neighbor. It was a wonderful insight into this kind and gentle man who just wanted to share the love that he had for the world and for children. He was very innovative in his positive thinking and messaging. He is what the world needs today. Someone who in the midst of all this chaos in the world can tell everyone that he loves them. Love and kindness are very powerful tools and will help you be very successful in this world. Yes you have to work hard as well but it's as equally important to work hard at being kind to others.

The world needs a Mr. Rogers right now. I have my own Mr. Rogers in my work place. His name is Fred Blankenship from WSB-TV. He's the most kind, gentle, positive, inspirational person that I know. He will greet you with an infectious smile that will brighten your darkest of days. He listens. He teaches. He laughs. I talked to him this morning and let him know that what he does every day touches someone in a positive way. I thanked him for being my Mr. Rogers. I hope that everyone can find a Mr. Rogers in their life. When you do find him or her, tell them thank you.

Thank you Mr. Fred Rogers. Thank you Mr. Fred Blankenship.

The greatest thing that we can do is to help somebody know that they're loved and capable of loving. - Fred Rogers

Most Hated Food! - Bananas!

Do you have a food that you really can't stand? Not a food that you don't like because you haven't tried it but a food that you have tried and can't stand!

Mine is bananas! I don't like the taste or smell of bananas. I don't know why but I have tried them in several things and can't stand them. Recently my father was talking about how my grandfather had problems with low potassium so I thought I would try to start eating bananas. Well I tried this morning and I just couldn't get through the whole thing.

I don't think I will ever like bananas! Do you have an issue like that? See the look on my face below as I tried to eat one this morning.

DELETE

The dreaded DELETE key. For the past couple of days at work, I have been tasked to purge media from the AVID system to make room for system upgrades. I've always been kind of scared of having that responsibility but someone has to do it. It dawned on me as I was deleting these items, that we should also look at our lives and remember to delete all those negative things in our lives. It could be anything from eating habits to social life to religious beliefs.

Don't forget to every now and then remember to delete something. When it's deleted there is no coming back. You could recreate it but make sure it is better than what you made before.

Do you have anything in your life you want to delete?

Test Drive...#2

For the past couple of weeks we have been discussing me getting a new car. Last week we tested the Ford CMAX. It was very neat, comfortable and fun to drive. Perfect for the whole family. This week's test is the Buick Encore. After seeing one in the neighborhood, we thought it could be a contender. After driving it today, I'm not sure. Feels a little cramped and too businessy. Very nice and professional looking but not that "fun" to drive. Will it be the winner? We will have to wait and see.

Bad Dog!

So Poptart over past 7 months has been a relativively good dog while we aren't home. She has a penned off area at home that she is allow in. Well the last couple of days when Dana has come home, she has found a way to get out of the pen and get to the rest of the house. Has it been a problem? No. Has she messed up something in the house while out? I don't think so. However it's not safe that she is roaming around. Well today we come home after being out in the morning and she has gotten out & torn up a bag that had repair tools in it. Nails, screws, attachments, etc were all over the floor and the bag was torn up! Did she eat any of them? I have no idea. Have they torn up her stomach lining? I don't know! All I can say is her "freedom" is over. Time to screw the pen to the walls.

Zoom....Focus....Shoot!

Tonight was my second attendance to the Atlanta Photographers Guild photo shoot. It was very fun!! Tonight's theme was Pink Flamingo Trailer Park style. They set up the pink flamingo set but decided to shoot some country scenes outside first. I had been assigned a model named Mary Strawberry.

She was very energetic and photogenic. I was able to get some really catchy images. There were two other models but one I didn't get the name of. The male model named Hamilton had this Kanye West look to him.

Take a look and let me know what you think. I didn't get to stay for the actual pink flamingo part.

Low battery!

How handicapped or upset do you feel when you have a low battery on your phone?

Is the low battery because you are using it too much to do things like Tweet or watch videos on YouTube?

Do you always remember to bring a charger with you wherever you go?

Do you sometimes feel like your phone is glued to your hand?

Do you use your phone more for text and other things than actually talking on it?

I'm not saying that I'm guilty of those things that I listed above but my phone died today and it was quite annoying.
